This paper presents two vortex detection methods which are based on the geometric properties of streamlines. Unlike traditional vortex detection methods, which are based on point-samples of physical quantities, one of our methods is also effective in detecting weak vortices. In addition, it allows for quantitative feature extraction by calculating numerical attributes of vortices. Results are presented of applying these methods to CFD simulation data sets.en_US
