To allow you to compare the resulting image quality, we rendered a crop of 
figure 11 with different plant settings:

- quality_mesh_100x_supersampling.png: 
  The source mesh using 100 samples per pixel.

- quality_mesh.png: 
  The source mesh using 1 sample per pixel.

- quality_lod.png: 
  Our LoD using 1 sample per pixel.

Note that while our LoD results in a slightly lower contrast than the 
supersampled reference image, the mesh exhibits a significantly increased 
contrast.
