Many were looted in the past, lost and some recently repatriated. The aim of the research presented below is to develop a system that would present online, for the museum visitors and scholars interested in such artifacts, the diachronic narrative of their lives and conservation.{Data acquisitionRemote sensingSoftwareCultural HeritageMetadataSpatioTemporal layersWebGIS}Tracing provenance of lost and found Cypriot Byzantine icons10.1109/DigitalHeritage.2013.6743813
