Color analysis of images for the purpose of color balancing, color contrast, and color correction is critical in image processing applications. Color analysis of images for the purpose of palette extraction has received less attention. Motivated by the question of how best to transfer color between two non-photorealistic images in such a way that artistic intent and image aesthetics are taken into consideration, we consider a palette driven approach to the image color transfer problem. Our goal is the transfer of chromatic content from a source image to a destination image with careful consideration given to value structure and artistic intent. We show examples of color transfers using our methods.en_US
