The cylinder is constructed with one quad strip around a circle that is centered at the origin and having a radius of 0.5. The height of the strip and, in turn, the cylinder is 1.0. We use polar coordinates to determine points on the circle where the circle is partitioned into 72 segments. These points become the vertices of the quad strip both at the base and at the top of the cylinder. We also set texture coordinates and normals at each of the vertices.
